Talking Story

Frequently asked questions

  • I don't think I will have enough to say or they already heard all the stories.

  • What experience has proven over and over is that once we settle in, the camera will disappear, and the two hours will fly by. The other common experience is that no one has heard all the stories and having your loved one on tape telling about their life is priceless.

  • I feel too old and don't think I will look good on camera.

  • The quality of digital video is television quality. In a comfortable environment with a good quality camera and edits, we have never had anyone feel disappointed later to see themselves. Just the opposite - the very fact of being documented creates a sense of profound validation.

  • What if I say something that I didn't mean to or need to take breaks?

  • We professionally edit the video to remove any parts that you are uncomfortable with and we usually take a few breaks throughout the 2-3 hours of meeting and filming.

  • Can we have other family members on the video too?

  • Yes, we can video a conversation between family members or special events. Also, we often make videos of spouses telling their stories together or arrange that a spouse or other family member joins for a portion of the video.
